WASHINGTON (TACDAR) — Thousands of protesters gathered in the heart of the nation’s capital on Saturday, January 13, to demand a ceasefire in Gaza. The peaceful demonstration saw a passionate crowd advocating for an end to the conflict in the Middle East.
The march, which drew participants from various backgrounds and organizations, aimed to raise awareness about the ongoing conflict in Gaza and to call for an immediate ceasefire. Chants of “Peace in Gaza” and “End the Violence” resonated through the streets as protesters held signs and banners expressing their solidarity with the Palestinian people.
While the majority of demonstrators peacefully voiced their demands, two individuals were arrested for assaulting a police officer. Law enforcement authorities on the scene swiftly apprehended the suspects.
In a precautionary move, a special anti-scale fence was erected around the White House to prevent potential acts of vandalism or breaches of security. The temporary fence aimed to safeguard the White House gates and maintain the integrity of the historic building.
